About this style

Most dark wallpapers are made for one mode only. Notchwerk always makes a pair: the Topo template above draws glowing contour lines on near-black for the evening, and the same map on pale paper for the day.
A good dark wallpaper is not pure black. A very dark green, blue or grey keeps a little depth, and thin bright lines stay readable without glaring. That is why all dark palettes in the generator start just above black.
For a calmer night look try Horizon, which shows the moon and a sky full of stars in dark mode. Developers often prefer Terminal with its Phosphor or Amber palette.

Is a dark wallpaper better for the eyes?
