How it works

  1. Pick a template and your iPhoneEight templates for every model from iPhone SE to iPhone 18 Pro Max.
  2. Make it yoursYour own line of up to 40 characters, with colors for light and dark set separately.
  3. Save both versionsSave the light and the dark PNG. On the iPhone itself, tap Save to Photos to put them straight into your library.

Can the iPhone switch the wallpaper with dark mode?

Only Apple's built-in wallpapers change by themselves when the iPhone switches to dark mode. iOS can dim your own picture at night, but it cannot swap it for a different one.

The way around it is a Shortcuts automation: one sets the light version at sunrise, another the dark version at sunset. Setting it up takes about five minutes, once. The step-by-step guide walks you through it.

Made for the lock screen

The clock takes up the upper third of the lock screen, and the flashlight and camera buttons sit at the bottom. Each template places its text and main detail in between, so nothing important ends up behind the time.
